Purple Urkle – Cannabis Delivery – 7 Grams – Indica

The past of Purple Urkle is as complex as its palate of flavour. The roots are thought to derive from a select phenotype of Mendocino Purps, a California strain, whereas the essence is a combination of skunk, berry, and fresh grapes. Consumers say that the effects are extremely calming, sleep-inducing, and a perfect choice for the relief of full-body pain. For those who suffer from insomnia, the brief onset of symptoms makes it a perfect nighttime pressure.

About Purple Urkle

Perhaps one of the most popular Indica strains around is Purple Urkle, although its roots are still still a mystery. What we do know is that the strain has been around since the 1980s and was originally grown in northern California’s Emerald Triangle district (Humboldt County). It is called “Purple Urple” on a daily basis and “The Urkle” on occasion.

While most veteran cannabis growers are normally tight lipped about their strain hybrids and genetics in the Emerald Triangle area, most growers assume that Purple Urkle was either the offspring of Mendocino Purps or Granddaddy Purple.

If properly grown, its effects, taste and smell are reasonably consistent with other purple marijuana strains. Sometimes possessing the aromas of tropical berries, oranges, fruity pebbles and skunk, Purple Urkle has a sweet and skunky fragrance. Its effects can be very lethargic and soothing, as with many strong Indica strains, making it an excellent strain for insomnia and anxiety. It is also used for pain relief and as an appetite stimulant on a daily basis.

It is best left for late evening or night time use due to its sedating effects. A ‘two-hitter-quitter’ strain has also been identified – meaning two hits are normally necessary to get the maximum impact. We would suggest lower doses to start with THC percentages well into the 20’s, especially for inexperienced users.

Particularly when growing outdoors, the purple urkle is a very slow growing strain. It usually takes a full 5 months to flower while growing outdoors, although flowering time can be as fast as 8 weeks indoors. The strain remains fairly short and stocky as with many Indica’s, with yields slightly lower than average. Expect 1-2 ounces per plant to grow indoors, and around 1/2 pound per plant to grow outdoors.
